The waves of the past around Rozhen Festival

With a lot of excitement, the population of both sides of the border was preparing for the Rozhen Festival. The shepherds ordered new clothes, ” oiled chaines and belts, shined their guns and pistols “. Girls were making new dresses and sandals for the “patelyayusko horo”.
South of Rozhen every village has photos taken from the Rozhen meadows. From them you can feeel the spirit of the past, they keep the purity and virginity of the Rhodopean and his dream of freedom and liberty.
Such is the enlarged and color-coated picture of the photographer Krum Savov from 1905, a free gift with the “Rhodope Progress” magazine for all who prepaid their subscription to the 4th anniversary of the magazine – in 1906.
